Europe in North America
We drove to Quebec City with two friends in fall 2019. This trip was on Sue’s bucket list. The city is historic, beautiful and friendly (see my blog) – with a range of food choices from amazing hot chocolate and pastries to farm-to-table gourmet. We stayed at the Hotel du Vieux-Quebec, which was one of our all-time favorites.
I try the poutine (french fries, cheese curds and gravy) while Sue sticks with a homemade vegetable soup at Buffet de l’Antiquaire.
On the way up, we stayed at a delightful bed and breakfast in Saratoga Springs, which is a charming town devoted to horse racing. On the way home, we were treated to near-peak foliage in the Eastern Townships and Vermont and stayed in Bennington.
As the photo on the right shows, you never know what will unfold before you as you turn corners and descend cobblestone streets.
