Refuge close to home

Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge is only a few miles from our home. A huge marsh restoration project and blocked-off trails have reduced the number of shorebirds and other species within photographing distance.

While much smaller than Bombay Hook, it is still a good place for a short hike and the ever-present great blue herons.
